Facilities management is a profession that encompasses multiple disciplines to ensure functionality of the built environment by integrating people, place, process and technology. Facilities management includes such diverse disciplines as: Health and safety, Fire safety, Security, Maintenance, Cleaning, Grounds maintenance, Caretakers, Property management, Business continuity, Space allocation, Change, and many, many, more.
Facilities Management (FM) - the knowledge qualification. You will have a choice of different delivery styles; classroom; distance learning and blended learning (combining classroom and online education).
Facilities Management Practice (FMP) – the competency qualification is a work based National Vocational Qualification (NVQ), commonly known as a Qualification Credit Framework (QCF).
These can be taken as two separate qualifications; or a combination of both, which could be part of a higher apprenticeship (including essential skills).

Foundation Degree in Facilities Management
Facilities Management Principles (knowledge). Length of course 18 months

IWFM qualifications are assessed against clear learning outcomes setting out the knowledge and skills needed by facilities managers at different levels. Assessment tasks are practical and work based. Reflecting live business projects and activities – a real benefit to both individual learners and their organisations.
