This I day course supports learners wishing to gain the Green Labourers Card There are 5 topics covered on , Setting the Scene, Local Law and Enforcement, General Site Safety, High-Risk Activities and Health. Aimed at anyone who is related with construction activities in any sector or looking to move into construction in the future. Learners gaining this qualification will know that safety is the responsibility of everyone on a construction site and will recognise the consequences of failing to act safely.
Course Content: Unit ONE – Setting the Scene The importance of Health and Safety on a construction site Understanding why Health and Safety is a positive Unit TWO – Local Law and Enforcement The basics of health, safety, and environmental law The key principles of legal requirements of local laws for construction work Unit THREE – General Site Safety Mitigating risk on construction sites Types of PPE used on a construction site Safety signs used on a construction site Welfare arrangements on a construction site Types of work and plants equipment Emergency and first aid procedures Fire procedures Accidents and near misses Unit FOUR – High-Risk Activities How to manage lifting operations safely Excavation risks Confined spaces Underground and overhead services Key issues when working at height Unit FIVE – Health Mental health Asbestos Lead Vibration Noise Manual handling Hazardous substances Drugs and alcohol
How Long Will It Take?
To complete this qualification, learners should expect to undertake 6 hours and 30 minutes of guided learning, with an additional 30 minutes to complete end of session assessment paper. A total of 7
Assessment Method
Learners are required to take one of two standard assessments under examination conditions.
The assessment consists of 25 questions in a variety of formats.
The minimum pass mark is 21 from a possible 25 questions
