This qualification aims to provide accredited professional development opportunities for those currently working within the career guidance sector, or those preparing to enter such roles, and to encourage progression within the sector
The qualification has a core of mandatory units which will be applicable to all staff, and a wide range of optional units to allow specialisation as appropriate.
Course Structure- Mandatory units Group A
· Preparing to work in the career information, advice and guidance sector
· Reflecting on practice and continuous professional development
· Interview clients to determine their need for career development, advice and guidance
· Meeting the career-related information needs of clients
· Career choice theories and concepts to support clients
Group B- optional units from a selection including:
· Plan and deliver career-related learning in groups
· Assists clients to review the achievement of career-related actions
· Provide ongoing support to clients
· Source, evaluate and use Labour Market Information with clients
· Negotiate on behalf of clients
· Obtain and organise career-related information to support clients
· Refer clients to sources of specialist support to meet their needs
· Promote career-related learning to clients
· Evaluate service provision.
This qualification is available to anyone who is capable of reaching the required standards and meeting the assessment criteria for the units in the setting in which they practice.It has been developed free from any barriers that restrict access or progression thereby promoting equal opportunities
With the support of your assessor you will undertake work based assessments, observations, assignments, case studies, statements and work based evidence
