Project Enduro - taking gravity biking to a new level!

This exciting project looks set to transform the world of gravity biking!

Gower College Swansea, in partnership with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, has set out to design a bike that is suited to a wide range of riders. The resulting four-wheeled Project Enduro gravity bike is predominantly designed for use by disabled people.

Project Enduro is backed by A4B Government funding and has been developed in close collaboration with industry partners, resulting in extensive product development. It has gained significant interest from one of Britain’s largest sporting retailers and attention from a number of manufacturers.

“Enduro would not be seeing a fully realised project without the assistance of The Knowledge Transfer Centre, funded by the Welsh Government,” says Calvin Williams, Project Manager for Enduro. “The KTC has been a major force in the project’s success - not only did it inform us of our eligibility to receive support but it also introduced us to a number of industrial partners. As a result we’ve got a marketable product, with tentative orders from large suppliers.”

The bike will be a new introduction to the market and will provide a springboard for future research and development, both in the field of bike manufacture and in healthcare products for disabled users.
