Overview
This course provides learners with the knowledge and skills needed to recognise the risks associated with hazardous substances and how to control them.
It is aimed at learners who work in an environment where coming into contact with hazardous substances is likely. This includes workplaces such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and office environments.
Upon completion of the course, learners will:
- Understand the principles of hazardous substances in the workplace
- Understand how hazardous substances can cause hazards and risks to health in the workplace
- Understand how risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances in the workplace
- Understand the precautions and procedures necessary to ensure the risks associated with hazardous substances are properly controlled
Key information
No previous knowledge of health and safety is required.
The qualification will be assessed by a 15 question multiple-choice assessment.
Successful learners will received a Highfield Level 2 Award in the Control of Substances to Hazardous to Health certificate.
It is essential you bring photographic ID with you to the course and assessment.
