This qualification is aimed at all personnel who are intending to work within this sector or require this qualification to undertake their daily working activities. This award gives the learner an understanding of the theory and practice of the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment; commonly referred to as PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing).
It is expected that candidates possess relevant trade qualification and/or have a working knowledge of the electrical industry. Each application is considered on individual merit; however formal qualifications may not be required dependent on experience. During your study you will, learn, develop and practice the skills required to inspect and test items of electrical equipment in line with the latest edition of the Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.

The course consists of classroom theory and practical instruction followed by an open book examination and a practical assignment
Candidates require a copy of
The Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing (5th Edition).
A calculator, pen and paper will also be needed. A mobile phone cannot be used as calculator
