Who is the apprenticeship for?
At Level 3, the apprenticeship is suitable for those in roles such as Office Support, Personal Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Website Technician, Teaching Assistant, Sale and Marketing or Helpdesk Support in a wide range of industries. It is ideal for furthering skills and knowledge to carry out advanced tasks and provide solutions through the use of IT tools.

To be eligible for apprenticeship funding, the apprentice must be newly recruited by the employer for more than 16 hours per week, and based in Wales. Under 25s can be new to role within the last 6 months (Level 2) or 12 months (Level 3). Apprentices with disabilities are also fully-funded.
The learners will be allocated a dedicated tutor/assessor who will work closely with both the learners and employer to ensure the units selected are suited to their individual roles and organisational priorities. The tutor/assessor will visit the learner every 4-6 weeks to assess progress and set objectives for the next period.
The learners will be assigned project work set to their elected units, as well as be expected to gather evidence from their role to demonstrate application of their new skills. The learner may be expected to attend seminars or workshops in addition to work based learning, which will focus on the knowledge element of the qualification and support in developing understanding, skills and experience in this area.
Assessment
To successfully complete the qualification, learners will create a portfolio of evidence relevant to their individual role and learning environment. They will acquire the knowledge, tools and techniques associated with each unit that they will then implement in their current work environment.
The work assigned and evidence gathered will be reviewed during the regular group and 1-2-1 meetings with tutors/assessors and used for assessment purposes. Gower College Swansea utilises Smart Assessor which is an online apprenticeship management tool enabling provider, learner and employer to effectively track learner progress.

Customer Feedback
“The Regional Training Agency seeks to provide relevant, practical and professional high quality training for support staff in schools. Working in association with GCS Training has meant we’ve been able to offer hands-on training in the workshop, for site staff wishing to improve their practical skills. The facilities and training were excellent, and received outstanding evaluations from our delegates. We’re thrilled with the result and look forward to working with GCS Training at Gower College Swansea again in the future.
