This Award is aimed at qualified electricians.
Candidates should hold the Inspection and Testing qualification
This qualification comprises of a single knowledge unit which has 35 guided learning hours (GLH) which covers: relevant statutory and non-statutory requirements, electrical installation design, BS 7671, design and verification procedures, associated protective systems; and aspects of environmental technologies. It covers design calculations and the application of BS 7671 and related guidance in the safe and effective design of an installation. The qualification has a total qualification time (TQT) of 100 hours. Delivery consists of 5 consecutive full day tutorials, plus a further 12 evening tutorials spread over 8 months

ILM Management and Leadership qualifications
Candidates will need to purchase for the exam the following 3 books
1) IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations 2018 Amendment 2 'Brown' book,
2) Guidance Note 3 (updated to BS7671:2018+A2:2022), and
3) On-Site Guide (updated to BS7671:2018+A2:2022)
Having an Inspection and Testing Certificate would also be an advantage
Also, during the course the following two books would be advisory, but note the following two books are NOT allowed to be taken into the exam.
1) Guidance Note 1 (updated to BS7671:2018+A2:2022)
2) 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations – Design and Verification of Electrical Installations (9th Edition)
