These vocational qualifications are aimed at those considering a frontline housing position as a career or who are new to the sector to those that already work in housing and want to develop further or specialise in a certain area.

The Level 2 qualification provides a basic understanding of housing and introduces some of the essential skills and knowledge while the Level 3 certificate develops these skills further and gives a more detailed understanding of specialist areas of housing practice.

Housing Training Courses

The programme will be delivered through a series of 7 structured workshops, which will give the student underpinning knowledge for the assignments. This will be delivered at the employers premises. This will be supplemented by ongoing individual tutorial support and NVQ completion.     Full Funding for a limited number of places.  

Apprenticeship in Housing Level 3

The aim of this Apprenticeship is to upskill the workforce so that organisations can provide a sustainable housing provision. In these turbulent times – with new/changing legislation - this has never been more important.   This Level 3 Apprenticeship would benefit: Housing Officers, Senior Housing Officers, Housing Support Officers, Community Support Officers, Housing Administrators, Customer or Senior Customer Advisors, and anyone who works in an area where customer demand is outstripping the supply of social housing provision.   This Qualification has Full Funding for a limited number of places.

CIH Level 2 Certificate in Housing Practice

This qualification is designed for learners who either work within the Housing Sector or aspire to.  The course aims to provide learners with a basic understanding of housing, introduce some of the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in housing related activities, prepare learners for future study. Learners may progress to Level 3 certificate in Housing Practice.    

CIH Level 3 Award / Certificate in Housing Practice

This qualification is designed for learners who work within the Housing Sector. The course aims to: Help the housing sector to recruit and retain staff with generic skills such as communications, technical knowledge, customer care and IT. Develop the skills and knowledge necessary of people working in a front line capacity in housing, who wish to attain a generic qualification in housing. Provide learners with a detailed understanding of a specialist area of housing practice Prepare learners to progress to Level 4
Tis qualification aims to develop higher level study skills and more extensive knowledge of housing.   It will therefore be of equal interest to: Those who are developing their career and building on Level 3 qualifications Those who already have an alternative degree. The qualification is designed for individuals who aspire to managerial roles or have recently been promoted into such a position.

FdSc Housing and Sustainable Communities

This foundation degree is ideal for individuals who aspire to managerial roles or who have recently been promoted into such a position and would like to achieve CIH status*. This course is delivered in partnership with Wrexham Glyndwr University. *Chartered membership can only be gained through completion of university courses such as this one. CIH chartered membership is a demonstration of your housing expertise, commitment and ethical standards. Put simply, chartered membership is the hallmark of your success in housing. It is the recognition that you are fully qualified, competent and committed housing professional.   

NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Housing (QCF)

This qualification is designed for learners who work within the Housing Sector The course aims to: • Provide evidence that learners can develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders in a housing context • Maintain professional behavior and working relationships in a housing context • Maintain the health safety and security of self and others.      

NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Housing (QCF)

This qualification is designed for learners who work within the Housing Sector The qualification covers areas that allows the learner to explore how to work with colleagues and customers in a way that promotes equality and diversity whilst developing and maintaining ethical safe and sustainable working practices.
