Basic Electrical Maintenance
This course is aimed at those who have limited or no experience with electrical circuits and components. It will provide the learner with the theory and practice required to undertake basic electrical maintenance within their own premises or places of work e.g. connecting a plug top, changing a light switch or fitting, checking for circuit continuity, etc.
No specific electrical knowledge is required but candidates must be able to understand and retain technical information.
There is no formal assessment involved but we do include a knowledge assessment at the end of the course and you’ll receive a certificate of attendance

- Installing and replacement of electrical components
- Basic Fault Finding Techniques
- Checking the correct and safe operation of installed electrical components
On successfully completing this course you should be able to:
- Understand how to safely isolate equipment.
- Determine the risks of working with electrical equipment and know how to minimise them.
